Religion

The history of a country is always linked to the religious practices. In the Philippines from the chart below, it is apparent that Catholics makes up a significant proportion.

Why are there so many Catholics one might ask?
As already mentioned in the section concerning the history of the Philippines Christianity arrived in the Philippines with Ferdinand Magellan. Missionary activity during the country's long colonial rule by Spain and the United States transformed the Philippines into a predominantly Christian nations.

In fact, when you walk around in the Philippines, you will see the beautiful baroque churches built from the colonial period. Now who says you need to go to Europe to enjoy such architecture?
